Abstract Submission Guidelines for Poster Session

  1. Abstracts must describe original, previously unpublished work. Work that has been previously published elsewhere in a full scientific paper cannot be submitted. Data that have been presented in part, at other scientific meetings may be submitted. However, abstracts that are identical or essentially the same as those submitted to other meetings cannot be submitted.
  2. It is preferred that abstracts describe completed projects. However, partial/interim reports or reports detailing research programs will be accepted.
  3. The abstract content should be structured with the sections of: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. The abstract should be blinded- please do not include the title or authors in the body of the abstract.
  4. The title of the abstract should be no more than 25 words.
  5. The body of the abstract should be limited to 500 words.
  6. The author who will be responsible for presenting the poster at the poster session should submit the poster online and make sure that he or she is registered for the conference
  7. Abstracts that are accepted for the poster session will be notified no later than May 1, 2010. The deadline for abstract submission is May 1, 2010.
  8. The abstract deemed the most worthy by a blinded panel of experts will be awarded a cash prize of $250. The project selected will also be invited to present the research at a podium session at the meeting.
  9. There is NO cost to submit an abstract.
  10. The person responsible for the abstract will be required to complete a Conflict of Interest Form on behalf of all authors on the poster.

Poster Guidelines

  1. Posters should be no more than 46 inches high by 84 inches wide. Posters should be formatted in landscape settings. Please ensure adequate font size and coloring that your poster can be read.
  2. You must be present to mount your poster at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled Poster Session on June 7, 2010.
  3. Posters must be attended by the responsible person for the entire session (4:45-6:00pm).
  4. You may wish to have a handout for interested attendees. Small versions of your poster (8.5” x 11”) works well.
  5. If you wish to retain your poster, you must take it down by the end of the conference on June 8. Any material left on the poster board will be discarded.
